Krugwirtschaft

Regional cuisine at gourmet level

At the Krugwirtschaft, you can expect fresh, regional cuisine prepared consistently without convenience products. Our dishes are crafted with traditional culinary skill and refined to a gourmet standard. From freshly made carrot and ginger soup to Frisian beef sirloin, the menu offers a varied selection designed to satisfy even the most discerning guests.

We primarily use products from humane, responsible farming—some of them organic—and place great importance on seasonality and origin. Special attention is given to our sweets and desserts, which are an integral part of the Krugwirtschaft and should not be missed during your visit.

The rural atmosphere, together with the excellent value for money, completes the culinary experience at the Krugwirtschaft.

Privileg

Fine dining in a special atmosphere

The “Privileg” is a restaurant with a distinctive atmosphere: elegantly set tables, fresh and creative cuisine, and a selection of fine wines provide the setting for a truly special dining experience. At the “Privileg”, we delight both the eye and the palate with carefully composed menus and a high culinary standard.

We are happy to recommend a matching wine pairing for your personal menu. Discover selected wines, perfectly matched to each course and served by the glass.

Currently, the “Privileg” is open exclusively for special occasions by prior arrangement.

A glimpse into the history of the Historischer Krug

The Historischer Krug looks back on a long and significant history:

  • 1519: Foundation of the Historischer Krug

  • 1624: Use as a post station and the granting of royal privileges to the Historischer Krug

  • 1815: Acquisition by the current owning family

  • 1851: Confirmation of the privileges by the Danish royal family

  • 1864: Used as a field hospital by the International Red Cross during the Second Schleswig War
    (documented at the International Red Cross Headquarters in Geneva)
